WW2 China-Burma-India Patch - Indian Made

Forgive my ignorance here, fellers. My dad gave me a small bag of WW2 patches today along with a WW1 dog tag. In the bag was this CBI patch. Appears to be two piece construction with a white backing that has a Chinese mark on the back.

Would someone to be kind enough to tell me if it is original and an approximate worth? I haven't messed with WW2 patches in years and have no idea on them anymore. Thanks!

Its original.

There is a brit broad arrow stamp on the back which is common to the printed versions.

Value is subjective but see them here for less than $30 typically.

Thanks kindly, gents.

Title of thread has been edited to reflect it being an Indian made example.

Im not entirely sure that is a British broad arrow mark, as none of the British & Indian Army patches I have or have seen have such a mark. If they didnt apply these markings to their own insignia, why would they put it on foreign insignia? I am thinking it is simply a manufacturers mark.

Maybe, here's the Commonwealth Broad Arrow markings, India, an I above the broad arrow.

But did see this different marking on War Relics, could this one on the patch be a variant of the Indian Inspection stamp, cause we see a letter, a B, and what looks like a number on the other side of the arrow, a 6?.

CNY Militaria

As far as value, I typically sell these in the $15-20 range. They are fairly common.

Yes, Ive never seen a broad arrow stamp shaped like that, with those letters, all within a circle. But I am more of a medals guy than a patches guy, so maybe Im wrong.

I've seen this stamp also and think I've got one around here in collection, I wonder if this maker wasn't approved to produce insignia for commonwealth or English forces and this was his stamp to show he's approved?

Oh yes, Ive seen it many times on these patches. Seems to be quite common. But Ive never seen it on any British or Commonwealth kit.

Another question Billy, do these only turn up on the rears of CBI patches, or can they be found on other related CBI patches, in example the 10th Air Force?

I can try to post mine.Just need to get motivated to look it up.

My dad and I Bought an insignia group from a vet once who packed survival kits and parachutes in the CBI.He had a couple dozen or so of the printed patches and a few bullion. Also had a couple blood chits rayon/silk and maps.THhe vet explained he packed a chit and a map(s) in the air crew and pilots survival kits. One map was single sided and printed in country and marked Dehradun India 1942.I still have the maps, chits and couple patches.Dad traded off the duplicates for WW1 collar discs he collected back in the late 1980s.
