mikedon Posted March 1, 2018 Share #1 Posted March 1, 2018 I was wondering if anyone has come across a KA-BAR MARK 2 knife like this, (bottom knife in first, second, and third picture). It is marked KA-BAR - USMC, (small letters). It has a thin pinned pommel. It is exactly like the common late KA-BAR - USMC MARK 2 except it has a medium sized handle instead of the fat handle normally seen. It also has what looks like a "quick blue" blade finish instead of the common Parkerized blade finish that is normally found on this variation. usmce4 Posted March 13, 2018 Share #5 Posted March 13, 2018 Funny you should post this. I happened to acquire almost the identical knife recently. The only difference is that mine has a deep dark parkerized blade. I wanted to post mine on here to ask about it, but after the virtual plethora of misquotes and misinformation I mistakenly included with my last posting (the hot-blued one) I was naturally a bit gunshy about posting another knife. But since you showed yours, I'll show mine and maybe someone can give us some info on them. Art All 3 photos show the thin handle (26.3mm at widest point X 32mm at the highest point) next to a usual Fat Boy

usmce4 Posted March 13, 2018 Share #7 Posted March 13, 2018 Last photo - would greatly appreciate it if anybody in the know can tell me what it is I have -- also, note the first groove in the handle - see how far back it is compared to the usual spot? Thanks, Art
