hink441 Posted February 27, 2018 Share #1 Posted February 27, 2018 Here is a USN/USMC instructor pilot helmet from VT-10. This helmet was used from 1986-1989. The pilot was a USMC Captain who was a CH-53D pilot who was then assigned to VT-10 to train future NFOs. The Captain used this helmet while flying the T-34 Mentor. mohawkALSE Posted February 28, 2018 Share #4 Posted February 28, 2018 I have a similar helmet with different colors with a similar story. My helmet is in VT-27 colors from Corpus, the IP was originally a USN Rotary Wing IP flying TH-57s and then was assigned to Corpus as an IP where they lacked Rotary Wing aircraft and they then checked him out in the T-34C making him a dual rated Rotary/Fixed wing IP.
