jeffs1130 Posted February 26, 2018 Share #1 Posted February 26, 2018 I picked these WWII Army Dog Tags up at SOS, they were in a junk box with other stuff... What caught my eye was the "K" prefix in the Army Serial Number... At first I thought maybe Flight Officer or something like that. But when I checked online, it shows the prefix "K" was assigned to members of the US Coast & Geodetic Survey (Army) Department. I looked all over the internet for other examples but can't find anything! I have seen the Naval style (circle) dog tags with "USC&GS" but never an Army Dog Tag. I found more of the Veteran's info online - His first name was Marshall, he entered the service 07 NOV 42 from Ohio. 1919-2003. I might have to research and pull his file to learn more! I'm curious now to know what he did during the war! Any info or comments would be appreciated! Thanks!
