smwinter207 Posted February 21, 2018 Share #1 Posted February 21, 2018 Bought this recently. The story is that is was retrieved by a SF guy from Missouri (was with SOG, then FANK ADV). He captured it in 1972 or so. It is double sided. Unique style.

nguoi tien su Posted February 21, 2018 Share #5 Posted February 21, 2018 By 1972, this was not the design of the Cambodian flag anymore. It had been changed in October 1970, when Lon Nol became the new leader in Cambodia. And it is not the flag used by the Khmer Rouge either. If it was "captured" that would be the flag of a "neutral" country that did not exist anymore?
easterneagle87 Posted February 21, 2018 Share #6 Posted February 21, 2018 Probably plenty of flags left over and not all were immediately disposed of with the regime change. Maybe liberated would be a better word. No criticism here, I love flag, especially original period pieces. Thanks for sharing.
nguoi tien su Posted February 22, 2018 Share #7 Posted February 22, 2018 Probably more accurate indeed. I have seen several photos with South Vietnamese flags displayed and the world captured in the caption. Someone missed something
