Okinawa 2d Antiaircraft Artillery Battalion USMC Knife

Theatre made Marine Corps used knife. Id'ed to Cpl. John D. Henry Jr. 2nd Antiaircraft Artillery Battalion, 3rd Amph. Corps USMC. He served with his unit at the battle of Okinawa, the knife id'ed 3 times. Pommel attached by lanyard ring, blade 8" long. Knife was found in Mayfield, Fulton County, NY, home to Henry Jr.

That may not be a theater made knife. It has the same characteristics as one variation of a E.G. Waterman commercial knife that was often bought for personal use. I've seen them in all sorts of variants and some not marked, like this one. Still nice to have a marked knife with provenance.

After looking around, I would agree with your statement of being a Waterman, or at least being copied from one. Thank you again, you have a good eye and memory.

Yes it is a Waterman. I picked it up off of EBay. Little rough but that is ok. I like the used I'D knives better than unused knife.
