Reforger Posted February 16, 2018 Share #1 Posted February 16, 2018 Just got this awesome dog tag. According to a newspaper article from 1947, this soldier served as a rifleman in the 3rd Battalion, 18th Infantry Regiment and participated in the invasions of Africa, Sicily and Normandy. The 3rd Battalion landed on D-Day at Omaha Beach, so he was probably wearing this tag during the landing and in many other battles.

Reforger Posted February 16, 2018 Author Share #4 Posted February 16, 2018 Interesting, thanks. Since it says 25 June, I wonder if he maybe came to Normandy after D-Day, but who knows. I still assume he landed on 6 June, being in the 3rd Battalion.
Reforger Posted June 11, 2019 Author Share #5 Posted June 11, 2019 Well, this dog tag took a little trip to Omaha Beach, a place it probably has been to before.
