Chesty Puller's 1st Regiment.. Need some help guys. Tunic and trousers id'ed to PFC Robert(Bob) Vernon Parvin, HQ Co. 1/1/1. Joined Corps in Mid 44, doesn't seem to made it to the 1st Regt. till after Oct. 44. Purple Heart X 2?? OLC. How, if his 1st battle was "The Rock"?? Wounded twice in same battle? Maybe? I do find him in report wounded June 11, Kunishi Ridge, but can't find other. His ribbons seem a little out of wack, but hasn't been touched, was in his 1st Wife's estate. Top 2 ribbons pin back, bottom 3 clutch(Ballou) Ca. 1943. PFC chevron ONLY on left sleeve. Asia campaign 1 star would make sense, but not the (2) NUC's??? Unless NUC for Okinawa and 1 for China? I thought the 1st Division got a PUC for Okinawa.

All help is greatly appreciated. Hard to find anything not played with anymore. Thought about correcting the ribbons, but why, it's his work of art.

Ryan from MC History wrote back, saying only one card, yet notation on back of card. 1st wound GSW (Gun Shot Wound) Left wrist June 11, 1945 Okinawa, returned to duty June 15th. On reverse of card looks like another casualty for Sept 10th, report done Sept.28th. Looks like WFS????? Guessing Wound from shrapnel????? I;m guessing on this one.. Maybe they got date wrong??? Battle of Okinawa was over with by that date.. Thoughts?
