suwanneetrader Posted February 12, 2018 Share #1 Posted February 12, 2018 Over the weekend a Flea Mkt Vendor showed me a Mortar that he said was a WWII US Trainer. If I remember (something I do not do well anymore ) It only had 4 thick sides where the thin fins would be. Please post a photo of one. He wanted $30.00 I see the real Dewats for $150. +. What is his realistically worth? It is getting so hard to find older items in North Central FL I've been buying items I know very little about. Mr.Jerry Posted February 12, 2018 Share #2 Posted February 12, 2018 with only 4 fins it sounds like a Mk23 Mod 1 practice bomb. Maybe a $20 piece intact. broken fins not so much.
suwanneetrader Posted February 12, 2018 Author Share #3 Posted February 12, 2018 It does have a multiple piece screw on head with approx 3/8" screwhead on the side of the warhead, . Like these but any paint now gone. There were some letters and numbers stamped in the side. But I do not remember any fins. Definately not like the solid one piece practice bomb. Mr.Jerry Posted February 12, 2018 Share #4 Posted February 12, 2018 The fins do screw off on those from the body.
suwanneetrader Posted February 12, 2018 Author Share #5 Posted February 12, 2018 Thanks Jerry maybe I'll buy it next Sunday. If I decide it is not live and if it is a practice or dewat and OK to sell on the Forum Richard I still think the bottom was about a 3 inch square.
