What appears to be lead mission stars are very strange when they were normally the same as the combat stars on campaign ribbons. Yes, this badge was also worn post-WWII.

I disagree whole-heartedly. The stars NORMALLY associated with these wings are gold and are smaller than standard campaign stars. In fact, I would be suspect of any badge with campaign starts instead of the smaller gold stars. The stars were likely added by a collector rather than earned.

Your badge appears to be a nice, WWII vintage piece. I LOVE that frosted look on the front.
