The 101st Observation Squadron was based at Jeffries Point in Boston (at the site of the present-day Logan International Airport) until it moved to Otis AFB here on the Cape in 1968. It is now the 101st Intelligence Squadron.

In the interwar years the 101st flew some interesting aircraft that are not often the subject of modeling.

Here is a North American O-47 circa 1939. On the side is the famous 101st seagull which was seen on the side of many birds flown by the 101st when it was a fighter squadron and remains in use today.
