Peyton_Aukland41 Posted February 8, 2018 Share #1 Posted February 8, 2018 The photo attached below is of some American soldiers that would almost all go on to be a part of the 41st Infantry division. The reason this photo is so significant is that the ones who did end up being in the 41st all signed a flag that I have in my possession. I posted a topic about it called Japanese Flag - 41st division bringback These men all served in the battle of Mindanao where the flag was captured and this photo was sent to me with many others from a relative of one of the men in the photo. the names are: Back row left to right - James Esbrandt Baltimore MD, Emert Borgman Battlecreek Michigan, George Soloman, Jenks(unknown first name and didn't sign the flag), Tom White Francisco Indiana Front Row Left to right - David McMillan Cambridge Ohio, Harold Morrison Hoopeston Illinois, and Westover(first name unknown and didn't sign the flag). If anyone finds more information on the men here or the first names of the men who didn't sign the flag please let me know. Thanks!
