Andrei Posted November 16, 2008 Share #1 Posted November 16, 2008 The timeframe is spring 1972, and the unit was C-Troop/16th Cav. Those pictured are (l-r)Tim Brennan now of Atlanta, Hugh Mills of Kansas City, and yours truly, Mike King (Lila's dad) of Peachtree City, Ga. Spathologist Posted November 17, 2008 Share #2 Posted November 17, 2008 "The Disciple of Peace".. Interesting that it depicts the correct M1911 spur instead of the Prince of Wales abomination currently preferred...
Andrei Posted November 17, 2008 Author Share #3 Posted November 17, 2008 Funny thing that the crew chose to name their helo in french. But the correct spelling would have been Le Disciple de la Paix.

Not really odd...many if not most educated Vietnamese spoke French, but relatively few spoke English. If looked at as a message to the Vietnamese encountered in combat, it's even funnier.
