Hi all,

I am currently looking for a new read and the CBI has always interested me. Are there any particularly good reads for someone who doesn't particularly know a lot about it?

Thanks!

the best I've found is the series "confusion beyond Imagination" by William Sinclair

Sinclair was on the staff of the CBI roundup (newspaper) during WWII and later wrote a pretty darned definitive history of the comings and goings in the CBI

The CBI was vast and action was sporadic, so his series focuses on each element separately, Like the hump and the Ledo road and the B-29s etc in separate volumes

I got through our awesome local Library and it was a revelation just how enormous the effort in CBI was

The CBI roundup newspaper is also available online now

I always thought that the Time-Life WWII series volume on the China Burma India theater was very good. some good color photos also.
