Is there a Roster for the 15th Veteran Reserve Corps?

Hello- I recently purchased a C-D-V of Corp. John Ward of the 15th Veteran Reserve Corps who was a guard at the CW prison at Camp Douglas, Chicago. I wonder what his original regiment was. Thanks.

Ward served in Company K of the 100th Illinois. I attach a shot of his pension card from Fold3 showing the two regiments and his service record from Civil War data showing his service with the 100th Illinois.

For those who don't know about the Veteran Reserve Corps:

"The Veteran Reserve Corps was originally called the Invalid Corps from April 1863 until March 1864 and lasted until the end of the Civil War in 1865. The Corps was a military organization within the Union Army that gave light duty to partially disabled or otherwise infirm soldiers (or former soldiers). This allowed more able-bodied soldiers to serve in combat. About 60,000 men served in the Reserves. They performed guard duty, did patrol duty at Washington D.C., and enforced the draft."

At http://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/index.php?/topic/157683-civil-war-wounded-soldiers-cdv-photos/ you can see photos of some VRC members wearing their special light-colored uniforms. I seem to recall they were light blue.

Thank you Steve, great information; as I am an ILL collector. The Bartleson Post was named for the Col. of the 100th; if I remember right, he was captured at Chickamauga, released from Libby prison, only to die at Kenesaw Mountain. Ward's photo was taken by D.F. Brandon, as most Camp Douglas ones were. Thanks Bob for mentioning the VRC information.
