Hatcherhole22 Posted January 29, 2018 Share #1 Posted January 29, 2018 Ok so I'm looking at this BBl date marking of 10-43 S.C. ( the smoking bomb looks more like a chalice compared to the S.A's) no punch mark). Receiver stamped as US. Smith Corona 03-A3 482xxxx. Armoror's punch mark on receiver. Bolt appears to be SC. Center Bolt lug "rectangle", Bolt shroud is curved with "B.P." stamped on right side. Top of bolt handle stamped with CC bottom side has armorer's punch mark. The stock has FJA with J centered above trigger. In front of FJA is Crossed cannon cartouche. The bottom side of the stock in front of floorplate are three tiny circular stamps, two square and two triangles with #'s 25,17,29,39,36, 8. It is a Straight Stock and all wood is a 9/10 and beautiful looking " Hershey Bar" look. All metal parts are parkerized except the bbl. Fine hatch butt plate, same color. I wish I could get some pics up but haven't figured that out yet. There is a P directly behind the trigger guard, and a Circle P below that. Question is after being re-arsenaled so many times does the bolt description sound like they tried to keep the rifle as close as possible to a correct Smith-Corona ? Thanks in advance for any help, Hatcherhole22
M1Garandy Posted January 29, 2018 Share #2 Posted January 29, 2018 Bolt and bolt sleeve are not S-C. The bolt was made by Commercial Controls and the sleeve was made by Bay Products. The correct bolt would likely be marked with an X on the handle and the bolt sleeve a G.
