camillus Posted January 21, 2018 Share #2 Posted January 21, 2018 a 1 pin Camillus is a reproduction. M3s were only made for issue during WWII and they all had 2 pins
byf41 Posted January 21, 2018 Share #3 Posted January 21, 2018 I believe these were made in the 80's or 90's .
skautdog Posted January 21, 2018 Share #4 Posted January 21, 2018 I think byy41 is correct regarding manufacture dates. They are a nice reproduction for display purposes when one doesn't want to have their solid knife exposed or to use as a teaching tool. The basic difference is the one pin. SKIPH Posted January 21, 2018 Share #6 Posted January 21, 2018 In the early 1990s Camillus reproduced M3s. They made both a blade, and guard marked version. The differences between the WW2, & Repros are signifcant. WW2 had 2 pommel pins, a blue-black finish, better quality leather handles, & differences in lettering. Repros had a 1 pin pommel, a cheaper reddish colored leather handles, a gray parkerizing finish , the Camillus on the blades is larger print, and the Camillus on the guard marked, face away when looking down in left hand. PLus a variation in the "M"s. But, they are functional, well made knives, that sold for between $30-$40 in the 90s. SKIP
