Easy502 Posted January 20, 2018 Share #1 Posted January 20, 2018 Hello, ok, I have this lid which was directly found on the battlefield many years ago.at Le Ham, a small hamlet near Montebourg. Both shell and liner are marked and named to a GIEROK. It has fixed bales wich were welded after the red crosses were painted. On the strap, an American Red Cross label was fixed and GIEROX is written on it. Hope you will enjoy, Cheers, Easy502

BILL THE PATCH Posted January 20, 2018 Share #19 Posted January 20, 2018 How many with that name?, I would definitely spend the money to research all of them up to maybe ten names. Doesn't seem like it's a common name. Beautiful helmet. Sent from my XT1031 using Tapatalk

manayunkman Posted January 20, 2018 Share #21 Posted January 20, 2018 Do you have a picture of the liner? You might check with Ancestry. They might have become a doctor? What American units went through that area? It's an awesome helmet. Love Normandy.

Blacksmith Posted January 20, 2018 Share #23 Posted January 20, 2018 I would start with these two, looks like relatives from Minnesota: 1) Charles A. Gierok (37594532), enlisted 5/8/44 2) Ignatz "Iggy" C. Gierok (36277406), enlisted 10/22/
