stratasfan Posted January 14, 2018 Share #1 Posted January 14, 2018 A stamp dealer friend gave me these for Christmas. Two photos that were printed on the USS Ajax, both of V-J Day celebrations! There is a little "fine print" on the bottom left that says they are not mailable due to censorship regulations. The photos are not glossy, more like plain paper. Both are about an 8x10. Were these type of things common? I have never seen or heard of something like this before. Super cool!
Salvage Sailor Posted January 14, 2018 Share #2 Posted January 14, 2018 I've seen these photos several times in our members photo albums at our association reunions. Quite a few of them were there as Service Squadron Ten included the Fleet Tugs and Rescue Salvage ships and they were blasting away with all the tracers, flares and star shells in the ammunition lockers.
