Found this Navy dog tag at an antique store.
Its named to a sailor who enlisted in 1939 and served on the USS Harris, USS McCormick, USS Norris, USS Greer, USS Chaumont, USS Umpqua, and the USS Ranger.
He was on the Harris in San Diego during the Pearl Harbor attack. They arrived at Pearl Harbor on Dec 24 and transported wounded back to San Diego. The war diary lists the passengers as including 9 psychopathic, 17 stretcher, and 13 ambulatory patients suffering from wounds or injuries inflicted during the Japanese bombardment if Pearl Harbor on December 7th
