Croix de Guerre Posted November 13, 2008 Share #1 Posted November 13, 2008 These RFC and RAF wings are from the Thomson uniforms worn by Tommy Thomson of Missouri who flew with 74 Squadron RFC/RAF. This wing is from Thomson's "green" RAF uniform. These uniforms were only worn from the spring of 1918 until the Winter of 1919 when they were officially replaced by a uniform of pale blue-gray. IMPERIAL QUEST Posted January 11, 2009 Share #7 Posted January 11, 2009 I hope my Moderator brothers for this section don't mind...I thought a link to the Thompson grouping thread would be appropriate. http://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/ind...c=29504&hl=
trenchbuff Posted January 11, 2009 Share #8 Posted January 11, 2009 RFC and RAF wings are interesting just by themselves, but the fact that these belong to an American volunteer with an intense combat history make them outrageously interesting. I'd probably sleep with those uniforms. Assuming they don't smell too bad. Mark
