M-1910 pistol belt, no snap, no maker, gold washed?

I think this is a M-1910 pistol belt with out the snap for a magazine holder. It has not been altered. The box stitch and triple fold look period.

This has no makers marks or stamps. All of the metal looks like it was washed with a gold color, you can see the wash on the metal. Everything including the eyelets has this wash on it.

The construction of the keepers is odd in its construction. The raised bar and how it connects. The gold color wash really shows in this pic.

It looks like the M1936/56 transitional belt (version without the pocket snap) but with the M1936 ribbed keepers instead of the M1956 keepers. If anyone can pin this one down more, I'd be interested in knowing what it is.

It looks like the tool belt I wore back in the early 1980's while framing houses.

I work construction, this is a military belt. The civilian belts are cheep construction. A close up of the hardware.

I looked up your suggestion and I see what you are saying. I had posted another belt I came across with no snap and something called a medics belt came up. Can anyone shed light on the name medics belt?

I have no idea, I bought this at a flea market. I know the seller, he is a US Army Korean War combat veteran 1950-52. He was of the opinion it was an Officers web belt. We talked about it and it was something he kind of remembered, but couldn't prove. I bought it because I had never seen this before and for 5 bucks I get to learn something I didn't know before.

Any chance this is a French 50's knock off? For their military?

Not French, but possibly some other foreign version. The Norwegians widely copied these belts, but it is not one of theirs either.

Just a shot in the dark here but to me it looks like a 1960s or later parade belt that's been dyed brown.

Do parade belts have gold washed hardware?

I have seen them with high polished brass, high polished lacquer coated brass, gold painted steel, brass or zink. Basically you name it someone was probably doing. Outside the variety of military that used parade belts you also had a lot of civilian and even some law enforcement organizations that used them so you get a huge verity.

The M1910 pistol belt had four pockets on the female side of the belt for revolver ammunition. This would be an M1912, but the buckle and keepers are all wrong. Could it possibly be one of those inter-war belts for medics?

Ai, I posted another belt I have like this and had the same mixed reply's. I found an older post on this site from a guy who also had a belt like mine and his thread fell into this mixed reply. He called his belt a medics belt. I asked in my other post if it was a medics belt and had no reply's. I have looked on line for a "medics belt" and have only found that other post. Was there ever anything issued that was called a medics belt and is there any documentation? Yours David

If anything I'd say this is a pre-war belt, not a post war one.

I have an early WW2 belt that has the very same brass hardware. It's dated 1941. Yours most likely is 1930s.

If you have time would you post some photo's? Thanks

A couple of big problems for pre war idea. One is the sliders. The ones with the raised center like that are almost always post war. I have seen plenty of 43 an later belts with them but the war time ones I have seen were all steel. Second is the thread which looks to be green nylon.
