fabnatcyr Posted January 7, 2018 Share #1 Posted January 7, 2018 Hello this English bowie dates from 1890 it must have been imported to usa (it is marked for import) and come back to France for ww1 I think the initials and number can be that of a US soldier (If it was an English soldier the dagger would not have had the inscription and the numbers have nothing French seems t it) your opinions light up as always ???? sundance Posted January 7, 2018 Share #2 Posted January 7, 2018 Haven't seen anything like that before. But that's what makes it so neat. What is it that makes it marked for import,
fabnatcyr Posted January 7, 2018 Author Share #3 Posted January 7, 2018 Hello yes it was missing a photo explanation below by RON FLOOK The knife would date from after 1890 which is when to comply with US tax laws items had to be marked with country of origin.
