judging from the hardware...it is not a very large window? 12x14 or so?

I like the knock outs in the upper corners..clearance for tube frame/mount...looks like an attachment point behind the knock out...

no idea though about airframe...but cool display piece

Uh-oh, NOW you've gone and done it!

First I thought maybe A-10 center front windshield, but no.

Then I thought B-52 tail gunner position somewhere, maybe.

I'm hooked.

Must find.

Looks blue for a Navy plane.

How big is it?

The blue is from that tarp. Its more of a dark O.D. Its an exterior part and my thinking was if it was jet age  it would not be painted...just a thought. Jet age zinc chromate isn't dark.

The A-10 was a painted bird...this came off of a painted bird. It's driving me nuts too!

The frame out side to outside is a taste over 32 inch's tall (not counting the parts beyond the frame)

Looks to be a quick attachment window...few attachment points....and interior protected from slipstream....exterior window would have more attachpoints....unless maybe a helicopter or other low speed aircraft...

You come up with some cool aircraft parts....

Since it's 1 3/4 inches thick, and weighs almost 22 pounds, isn't it more likely to be armored glass from a defensive position on an aircraft, or a cockpit windscreen? My first thought was a B-29 tail gun, but I think it is too small for that.

While this is not the Armored glass in question I think the paint may indicate WW2 German.

I still think it looks like Navy paint.

It sold for 315.00...blew me out of the water. I saw pics of WW2 German aircraft with front armored glass not much different than this. The pics were too large for me to post. This photo shows the green better.

I think the early P38 and P40s had a drop in though again...not the window in question...but design is similar...lending to the protective window
