US flag below the combat patch indicates it's likely 2002 - 2005 vintage. IIRC the US flag was made a permanent part of the BDU some time after 9/11, I think it was in mid- to late 2003. Might have been as late as 2004? I think some units started putting the US flag above the combat patch but IIRC that didn't become "official" until after the ACU was adopted in 2005.
