Baron3-6 Posted January 3, 2018 Share #1 Posted January 3, 2018 Just wanted to report that Doug Boyer passed away in Hawaii last month. Doug ran a militaria business in Honolulu for many years and later after the store closed he continued to set up at the Honolulu Gun Show. He was a veteran of the US Army - I believe he served in the CA National Guard in the 50's. He was also a long-time member of the Hawaii Historic Arms Association. Doug always had something new to show, insignia no one had ever seen, and often handed off small things for free to people he thought would appreciate them. I got to know him well while stationed in Hawaii and will miss hearing from him! Best advice he gave me on multiple occasions in multiple, similar versions: "Never go into this as a full-time business if you can't control your collecting - you'll end up with a great collection and never make the rent !!"
