Vincennes Posted December 31, 2017 Share #1 Posted December 31, 2017 I picked this up over Christmas vacation. It was identified as a piece of WW1 trench art. The die is made of lead, about .5 to .55" on a side (it is NOT a perfect cube), and weighs about 1 oz. Has anyone seen lead dice trench art from WW1? Was it made of bullet lead? aznation Posted December 31, 2017 Share #2 Posted December 31, 2017 Lead dice have been around since the time of the Roman's all the way up to the 1900's. The dice you have appears to have pretty precise spaced holes as well as precise size holes, so I would be inclined to believe your die is somewhat newer or someone really took their time to get the spacing and size of holes precise. It's possible it could be WW1 trench art, but it's anyone's guess I think.
