Brian Keith Posted December 28, 2017 Share #3 Posted December 28, 2017 That is awesome! What a great find! Thanks for posting it. I'll bet not many out there in original box, NOS! BKW
Mr.Jerry Posted December 28, 2017 Share #4 Posted December 28, 2017 That is neat, and with all the gas rationing I am surprised that I haven't heard more of siphoning being a problem (it was in the 1970s) So my Dad had installed a gas cap lock like that (no where near as cool) that was always a pain to get on/off. P-40Warhawk Posted December 28, 2017 Share #5 Posted December 28, 2017 That is awesome! I have been looking for one of those and also a WWII tire lock. Gasoline and rubber tires were rationed, and all kinds of anti-theft contraptions were offered for sale by enterprising companies.
sundance Posted December 29, 2017 Share #6 Posted December 29, 2017 That's a really neat home front item. I've never seen one, and the box to boot.
aznation Posted December 29, 2017 Author Share #7 Posted December 29, 2017 Thanks for the comments. Considering the gas tank lock is made from wood (except the actual locking mechanism), it's no surprise that there are not many of these currently existing.
