Picked up this vest at Goodwill the other day, but not sure of if was ever military issue.  NSN #1680-0-982-9973. Any thoughts??

Def mil issue.  One of the few styles of Monkey harness used in helicopters.  Should be a D ring in the rear for where the "monkey tail" attached to.  Other end of that adjustable tail would attach to the aircraft.  Army replaced them a while ago,  this one is clearly from 1979.  I believe Aerial Machine and Tool still makes this vest and have seen them with a Bell part number on them.  Some units used to use this vest and attach the pockets from a SRU-21P survival vest on them to make a integrated safety and survival vest harness.
