Hello to all

- During ww2 the French army staffed Morrocan mountain natives as mountain recce units soldiers

They were easy to spot as they had their own tribal rig : a turban style hat and a long djellaba dress

They fought from January 1944 in Italy along Italy, Southern France, German border till the end in Germany

- They were most of the time fighting alongside US troops, so close that they were sometimes sharing front lines and rest places

On the site, already 2 of you guys in the US have Gi posing with them as souvenirs as they were unusual looking "middle age looking warriors"

- Do you have some in your personnal picture collection ?

Thanks

I have a book with photos showing them with M3 knives, "03 Springfield rifles, and 16"M1905 bayonets.

Their treatment of the Italians , especially the women; was less than admirable.

Hi Tankerman

I'm agree hence they have been good soldiers they also had unacceptable bevahiours towards Italians ... They have been hard to control by their officer (firing squad punishments tooks day to make it ends)

Can you post those pics please ?

Thanks
