Thank you all very much. Not much progress these days. I started to paint the figures including the Luther statue. I must admit, my first bronce statue model. After a short online research I found that ML painting looked rather boring so I decided to add some patina.

First I added some strips of Vallejo "Green Sky" acrylic mixed with chalk paint.

Looked a way too much so I thinned the patina with some ultra fluid Khaki Grey washing.

Martin looks good.

I'm sure the pigeons loved him too.

Ha, I was thinking along the same lines. But seriously the tank looks great and Martin is comming along nicely. Can't wait to see the finished dio.

As someone that is in the life-sized bronze statue business, you did a good job.  The brighter color wasn't inappropriate for a lot of climates, but it does look better toned down.  It'd probably be a little filthy anyway after surviving the fighting and bombing...   Really cool.

The statue is a great addition to the diorama. Preiser makes some great modeling items, although they are harder to find here.  The construction, detail and painting on the M-31 is first rate.  I always like seeing, and following your creativity and model building skills.  I am looking forward to seeing the finished diorama.  Great work as usual.

Hi Lars,

I like the coloring of ML so far. Did you prime him first or went straight for the painting?

Very slow progress these days. I noticed that Martin's statue was too large for the dio & M31 so I have had to shorten the socle.

The scene will take place in a small park. I choosed 1:86 (HO) scale cardboards/decor sheets for the base. These are made by different manufacturers for railroad modeling but will work here as well.

Amazing, the bullet holes are perfect Where did you get a garand or 50 cal. that small to put the damage in the statue base. As always beautiful. Thanks for posting. Mike

Thanks Mike, for your very kind words!

There are a couple of evil German model kits in the pipeline so I have to hurry a bit with that dio. Minor details to add and corrections to do but I think it's nearly completed now. I will look for some other background but that's it overall. Thanks for looking and thanks very much for your kind feedback again!
