lettow Posted December 7, 2017 Share #1 Posted December 7, 2017 The Navy marked Pearl Harbor Day beginning in 1942. Special commemorative stamps were applied to war savings bonds issued at navy installations on December 7 in subsequent years. Here are a few of them. The purchaser of this first piece was at Kaneohe Bay on December 7, 1941. The commemorative stamp was used as the issuing agency stamp for those issued on December 7, 1942 at the Pearl Harbor Navy Yard. Schmidt did not purchase his until January 1, 1943 but the commemorative stamp was applied nonetheless.

lettow Posted December 7, 2017 Author Share #3 Posted December 7, 2017 Although it is faded on this example, a similar stamp was used on bonds for the Third Naval District for December 7, 1943.
