M.H. Cole Book IV Knives

The actual 3 knives M.H. Cole used for his drawings on page 121 of his book U.S. Military Knives Bayonets & Machetes Book IV. The top one is made from the mid-section of a M1913 Patton Saber. The middle one is made from the mid-section of a M1860 Civil War cavalry saber. The bottom one is made from a vintage Simmons Hardware Company oval shaped knife sharpening steel, (blade is .4" x .84" x 8" long). I thought it was interesting to get a whole page of knives.

his books are very well done and educational. have them and refer to them before buying a knife. great reference.
