Major1863 Posted December 5, 2017 Share #1 Posted December 5, 2017 I found this sword not too long ago. It was being sold as a Civil War sword but it doesn't look like any Civil War sword I've ever seen. The blade's girth is too big and looks much older than mid-1800s. It looks like a sword from the War of 1812 or around that time. The blade is 30 inches long and still has a bit of an edge to it. The sword as a whole is actually quite light in weight. I'd say about the sane weight as a civil war musicians sword. I can't seem to find any makers marks either. If anybody can ID this then I'd greatly appreciate it! hink441 Posted January 1, 2018 Share #3 Posted January 1, 2018 That is a beautiful sword, I agree it looks older than a typical Civil War sword. Hopefully someone with more knowledge will pipe up and provide some more information. Chris
