Siamundo Posted November 24, 2017 Share #1 Posted November 24, 2017 I picked this up a couple of weeks ago and have been trying to figure it out but haven't been able to put 2 and 2 together yet. It is obviously Marine aviation as the patch w incorporates design elements of both VMA-121 & VMA-332, Marine Attack Squadrons 121 and 332. Perhaps the two squadrons were part of some joint operation or cruise? Maybe Marine Combined Air Group 12? It strikes me as being older made Japanese but other than that.... ocsfollowme Posted November 24, 2017 Share #3 Posted November 24, 2017 may see when both squadrons could have crossed paths https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VMFA-121 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VMFA(AW)-
Siamundo Posted November 24, 2017 Author Share #4 Posted November 24, 2017 Yes, I am familiar with Carrier Air Groups, but I had never heard of a Marine Carrier Air Group before. I know some Marine Squadrons were aboard with Navy Squadrons on some carriers, but could there have been a cruise at some time with only Marine Squadrons aboard a carrier?
