WW2 USN Aircraft Clock

Found this clock in a local antique shop. It is a model AN-5741 made by Hamilton Watch Co. These were made in 1944-45 and were used in various Navy aircraft. According to some online sources, these clocks were used up into the 1980s on some older P-3A Orions.

This one's serial number is 016649, and has been installed in a cool hand made display case. It has 5 dials and is considered the most complex clock made for the US military. I read it has over 400 moving parts in this clock.

This one does not run correctly and needs to be re-worked. When wound up, the clock only runs for a few minutes then it stops. I have seen some online watchmakers that repair these clocks but the cost is way more than what was paid for this clock. Nevertheless I really like this broken clock.

If you ever decide to repair that 37500 clock, the guy at this site will likely do it right. Cost might be high but, hey, a clock like that (especially in the nice display case) may be worth the effort.

I might have to look into a possible repair if I can find a good affordable service.

The link is not working Swifter.
