As the newly appointed Subject Advisor on this site, I feel obligated to my fellow
collectors to occasionally pass on some good information. Stumbled on a good deal
for US Military Aid (Greek) M1 bayonets for sale. These are the ones Gary Cunningham
describes in his book. These are being sold by Dupage Trading Company, on their militaria
site at a price of 3 for $50. No scabbards, could have dings, heavy grease, etc. The
price being less than $17 apiece. If they are dogs, you still get a pile of grips,
springs, catches, that you can use to upgrade M1s you already have. As Gary stated,
"contracted by US for issue to Greece under a Military Aid Program in the mid 1950s."
These were contracted to be used on the M1 rifles loaned to Greece. I'm not trying to
promote the seller, but a good deal is a good deal, and should be passed on to collectors.
I couldn't keep this from my friends and fellow collectors. SKIP

That shipping is a killer, though! $18 FedEx Ground to Virginia isn’t for me.

Just trying to help out my collector friends. Shipping costs, what can I say, I know it's high, but things are
coming from Arizona. Glad I could offer a little help. I have 1 Bayonet, and some other stuff due today or tomorrow.
I'll let you know how the bayonet looks when I see it. SKIP

That's how it starts, first "advisors" then the grunts go in. Better get your 782 gear in order and your letters written :)

Congrats Skip - your stuff is way out of my league but I enjoy reading it.

As I stated when opening this thread, that I had ordered 1xM1 (Greek) bayonet for $25. This was before they offered the
3 for $50 deal. Anyway FEDEX just delivered the bayonet is about as mint as can be outside of original packaging. Never been
sharpened, no scabbard wear, black finish overall, not the usual purple/black normally seen. Has cosmoline, but not smothered.
Beautiful, eye pleasing bayonet. Great buy for an M1 bayonet at $25. Very happy with the purchase. Just wanted to let you folks
know. Way better than what was pictured in the Dupage Web page. Actually, this is the finest Greek M1 I have ever seen.

Skip,

Congratulations on the appointment, and thanks for thinking of us.  I probably won't be picking one up, but I did look at the page and it looks like a decent deal.

Look forward to seeing your posts, and I'll probably see you at the Raleigh show in early January.

Sounds like a great bayonet.

Checked the shipping for here to the cornfields and its $17.34 for the 3 pack.Seems fair as I cant drive to the local show and give my donation of $7 at the door and find the same deal. ;)

Ron-I agree. Costs $9 to get into any show around here these days. Along w/ the bayonet, I picked up a box of 200 .30 cal bore
brushes, They advertised box was rough, and brushes were oxidized. The one I got had oil stained paper on the outside, but the
actual box was sealed in parafin, w/ waxed paper around it. I had to open it. I now have 200, mint .30 cal bore brushes. They
are all excellent. Reason for the purchase was it's difficult to find bore brushes for less than $1.75 each, these cost me .20
cents. Too good a deal to pass up. Enough off topic! Let us know how the bayonets look. SKIP

LOL!(Many times) Good one guys. OK, can someone recommend a good camera, for detailed shots, easy to down load
pictures into a computer that a technological incompetent, can easily use, at a reasonable price. It must
come with a comic book style directions, similar to the old M16 booklets of years ago. Believe me I'd love one.
I have a wonderful collection I'd like to photograph. Appreciate any assistance. SKIP
