spitfirefan Posted November 20, 2017 Share #1 Posted November 20, 2017 Picked this up at an estate sale along with a few other doughboy items. Imperial War Museum site says it was used with a Vickers AA. Any idea how rare? I have not seen these before and can find no other pics anywhere on the interwebs. spitfirefan Posted November 20, 2017 Author Share #2 Posted November 20, 2017 Measures about 5in by 2in. Looks like porcelain covered metal. Here is the back. Thanks for any info!
illinigander Posted December 8, 2017 Share #3 Posted December 8, 2017 Never seen a British one but have seen several "musket range finders". I have an artillery one for the US 3 inch field gun (1902/05) that is called "Battery Commanders Ruler" FA 1914. There are several scales in mills, and a scale "HDS. OF YDS". Also has the string which I assume you hold at your nose and hole the ruler at arms length and read the yardage. Illinigander
