navyfamily Posted November 18, 2017 Share #1 Posted November 18, 2017 Hello All! I recently purchased what the seller claimed to be a WWII cartridge belt in OD#7. I was wondering what ways there are to spot a Korea belt from a genuine WWII one if the stamp is faded because I have my doubts. Thanks, Duncan

trenchfoot Posted November 19, 2017 Share #5 Posted November 19, 2017 I may be mistaken, but for the Korean War, didn't the army dye the normal od#3 belts to od#7?
'Flage Guy Posted November 19, 2017 Share #6 Posted November 19, 2017 According to the Army's records of gear development in the War, quantities of canvas gear were dipped in vats of dark green dye, and sometimes even painted with darker olive drab paint. This began fairly early in the course of the War.
Cap Camouflage Pattern I Posted November 20, 2017 Share #7 Posted November 20, 2017 I think it might be the little webbing strips with snaps inside the pocket under the flaps?
Cap Camouflage Pattern I Posted November 20, 2017 Share #8 Posted November 20, 2017 some random pictures I found on google images that might help 1950s OD #7 without the strips with snaps WWII OD37 with. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
