Major1863 Posted November 17, 2017 Share #1 Posted November 17, 2017 I acquired these a few years back. I don't know if they are civil war period or not so I anybody can ID these then I'd appreciate that. I don't know what the prong in the middle is for. I know that most spurs were tied around the back of the boot.
268th C.A. Posted November 17, 2017 Share #2 Posted November 17, 2017 The prong was meant to be driven into the heel of the boot, to be in there permanently. This type of spur has no boot straps. As for the time period I cant say....I've seen a lot of spurs here in Texas but don't collect them. My knowledge is little.
Major1863 Posted November 17, 2017 Author Share #3 Posted November 17, 2017 Gotcha. I figured it was something like that but wasn't sure. Thanks though. Every little bit of information is important!
