stealthytyler Posted November 16, 2017 Share #1 Posted November 16, 2017 Has anyone heard of the USMC WWII field gear manufacturer K&C dated 1942? Trying to figure out if they are repro or original.
Schnicklfritz Posted November 16, 2017 Share #2 Posted November 16, 2017 Not a WW2 era manufacturer of USMC 782 gear as far as packs, canteen covers, shovel covers, USMC first aid pouches, etc. Majority of 782 gear is either USMC Depot or Boyt manufactured. Some variation to USMC cartridge belts. I believe the K&C for King and Country.
stealthytyler Posted November 16, 2017 Author Share #3 Posted November 16, 2017 It is on a cartridge belt. So K&C is a legit WWII manufacturer then?

doyler Posted November 17, 2017 Share #6 Posted November 17, 2017 Agreed its a repro and its for sale on ebay.... The material is off as well as the eyelets are not typical of war time produced hardware.

stealthytyler Posted November 17, 2017 Author Share #8 Posted November 17, 2017 YEah I passed on that. At first glance I thought it looked good but the stamp threw me off. Thanks guys
Steve1987 Posted November 17, 2017 Share #9 Posted November 17, 2017 I honestly think the majority of bidders on e-bay just have no idea what they're buying. There was a very rare original USMC pistol belt that was discussed here recently that sold for less than that. Sad really. Cheers, -Steve

I didn't even consider bidding because I assumed it would go for crazy money... eBay is so unpredictable sometimes.
Schnicklfritz Posted November 19, 2017 Share #11 Posted November 19, 2017 Not an original manufacturer. I was thinking it might be a King and Country repro, but it looks like a fantasy stamp made by someone lately. It is on a cartridge belt. So K&C is a legit WWII manufacturer then? oldabewla Posted November 19, 2017 Share #12 Posted November 19, 2017 I'm not for sure if there has been a list of WWII USMC canvas field gear companies listed on here before? Boyt F-S Lite MFG Harian Hinson Phil QMD These would be just WWII canvas field gear companies only if I missed any please add.
