Robswashashore Posted November 16, 2017 Share #1 Posted November 16, 2017 As part of my display to commemorate the attempted rescue of the crew of the USN submarine S-4, which was lost off Provincetown, MA in December 1927. I carved a 1/72 model of the Coast Guard picket boat CG-2339. Under the command of Boatswain Emmanuel Gracie of the Coast Guard Station Wood End, this little boat labored for hours in rough seas dragging a grapnel to finally locate the stricken sub so that rescue efforts could commence.
