Corpsmancollector Posted November 17, 2017 Share #8 Posted November 17, 2017 Never even seen these before - as AG said, look like something Eddie Bauer would have produced? Was it made by them under contract? Cool pieces for sure! Will
kammo-man Posted November 17, 2017 Author Share #9 Posted November 17, 2017 Will You are correct The eB company pretty much were on the leading edge of mountain clothing during the pre war period and had cornered the goose down feather market Sounds funny but true Today it is the norm with many outdoor company's down jackets but it was once beyond high tec and a breakthrough in insulated clothing Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
dustin Posted November 17, 2017 Share #10 Posted November 17, 2017 The US Navy Bureau of Aeronautics also tested the suit and even developed a similar outfit for aircrews with some similarities but ditinticvely different. This image os of the suit in question dated June 1943 at NAS Adak, the brief caption says the jacket weighs 5-1/2 Lbs. and pants 3-3/4 Lbs.
