I have a couple.Recently sold this one

Had an early type carrier with no cover flap.

Don't recall if its said to be 2nd pattern or 3rd pattern bipod. It has the "C" clips holding the pin

Both legs marked COLT

Thanks Ron, always appreciate your useful post here

My set looks unissued, and has three rods in the covered snap pocket, one cleaning, one extention rod and one with the end similar to a large threading niddle.

Sounds like a nice set.

Often the rods are missing and I recall a plastic case for oil used/added in the later cases with the zipper pouch

The slotted tip for the rod is used for the cloth patch to clean the bore after the brush is run through.

If you don't have one pick up a period manual. The comic book one is not hard to find.I use to have a dozen of them around but not sure where they ended up.Gave a couple to vets here in town.
