wartimecollectables.com Posted November 5, 2017 Share #1 Posted November 5, 2017 Thought it was for a dog or a kid when I found it but everyone I see has attached eye protection. No marks I can find.

one50 Posted November 5, 2017 Share #4 Posted November 5, 2017 No US markings. Non US filter. Non typical face piece. My guess is industrial not military. Animal masks have protection for the eyes. I have nothing even close to it in any of my references. Could just be a face piece for a paint booth. Sorry Dan

one50 Posted November 5, 2017 Share #6 Posted November 5, 2017 "Sorry" that I didn't have better news for you. The filter I have never seen from any country...still looking for a close match...would like to know myself. The face piece just doesn't look like a mold we (US) ever used. DukeNougat3d Posted January 19, 2019 Share #7 Posted January 19, 2019 This is a Vietnamese Type 66 (T66) Respirator (assuming that designation is correct, it is uncomfirmed where that name comes from), it is believed these were produced by Communist China for the North Vietnamese Army and Viet Cong as a rudementary protective device for when U.S. forces attempted to flush out tunnels with riot control agents. These normally would also be issued with their own set of goggles, as well. These are somewhat rare masks, as none are imported and the only specimens floating around the U.S. are captured veteran bringbacks. The photo below shows a specimen from the collection of Bart Wilkus, you can learn more about his collection here: http://nofuture.com/gasmasks.net/
