Redleg13a Posted October 31, 2017 Share #1 Posted October 31, 2017 I have a bayonet question but I'm not sure it's an American bayonet. I got it years ago but I don't remember for sure where or who from. It fits an M16, has a square ribbed plastic grip, has a clip point, a saw back, hole in the blade for a wire cutter and a squirrel with NWM underneath it. No other markings that I see. I seem to remember reading about this bayonet years ago but I don't recall any of the information. Is this an American bayonet that wasn't adopted? It seems like it was something like that but I don't know. Thanks for any help you may be able to provide.
Misfit 45 Posted October 31, 2017 Share #2 Posted October 31, 2017 Sounds like a KCB77 or one like it. Made by Eickhorn in W. Germany. Used on American M16s, but not a US bayonet. One like you describe can fit other rifles too. Don't know what the NWM means. Marv
Misfit 45 Posted October 31, 2017 Share #3 Posted October 31, 2017 Just looked up the NWM mark. It is a Dutch company which made the KCB 70 "Stoner" bayonet. Look it up here. http://www.muetstege.com/kcb70m1.htm Marv

Redleg13a Posted November 1, 2017 Author Share #5 Posted November 1, 2017 I guess the next question is would this be considered an American military item to be allowed for sale on this board if I were to sell it? If so, what's a fair price to ask? No scabbard and it has been sharpened. It is not in mint condition by any means but it's not abused either. I can post pics tomorrow night if anyone's interested. majormadmax Posted August 7, 2019 Share #6 Posted August 7, 2019 Still have it? I picked up a AES (Eickhorn) KCB-77 combat knife yesterday, and would love to have the bayonet companion to it...
majormadmax Posted August 7, 2019 Share #7 Posted August 7, 2019 Oh, and NWM stands for Nederlandse Wapen en Munitiefabriek ‘De Kruithoorn’ N.V.. the Dutch firm that developed the KCB-70 in conjunction with Carl Eickhorn Waffenfabrik AG...
