I looked up a Jack H Swell and found only one person that possibly fits

with your tag.

Jack Hughes Sewell

Born 27 May 1915

Died 19 April 1993

Enlisted US Army in 1941

His enlisted serial number was: 17017296

Place of enlistment was Fort Snelling, Minnesota

Year of birth, 1915

He is buried at the Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minnesota.

They have him listed:

birth, 05-27-1915, death, 04-19-1993,

section c-7, site 8547, US Army Captain, WWII, Korea

Looks like he enlisted in 1941 and received his first tetanus shot.

At some point he became an officer and was issued a new

serial number, an officer's number beginning with an O.

Might not be him, but it was the only person I could find that matched up

on all the searches.
