1883-1941 Colour and B&W Plates from U.S.N. Regs

crying.gif Sword, scabbard, belt, and sword knot. This item remained virtually unchanged from the 1860s through 1941 when suspension of the full dress uniform went into effect during the Second World War, everything remained the same afterward except the sword belt was worn underneath the dress white uniform with a slit on the left side of the jacket for the sword slings to pass through to hold the sword and scabbard in place. It is not easy to date these items during the 100 more or less years? :(

:rolleyes: While this page is from BB&B, not the U.S. Navy uniform regulations, it shows what the officers wore in 1918.
