Robswashashore Posted October 17, 2017 Share #1 Posted October 17, 2017 Which patch would have been worn for the 33rd Fighter Interceptor Wing when it was based out of Otis AFB during the Air Defense Command era (early 1950's)? Would it have been the one with the "Fire From the Clouds" motto on it or would it have said "33rd Fighter Interceptor Wing"? Also, does anyone know where I could purchase one (a reproduction would be fine...)? Thanks. Jean
Randy Posted October 19, 2017 Share #2 Posted October 19, 2017 Jean- Here's something close. I've heard it's WW 2 and I've heard it's late 40s AD era. I've had it a long time, and I have seen no proof for either, but it's for sure one of the two. This one also had a flaw in the sword blade, so I drew one in there so you get the right idea. This is the only old one of this unit I've seen, which happened a lot with wing level patches. Many were just not made or worn. The 58th FS/FIS was there at Otis with them. There are several versions of that patch as well depending on era. Hope this helps. Randy
