douglas Posted October 15, 2017 Share #1 Posted October 15, 2017 Here are some photos of an Aviator's Kit Bag that I picked up some time ago. It is named to 2LT Ralph Hodgson who was shot down, into the sea, in 1944. He and his serial number are listed on the 720th Squadron roster of officers dated 25 February 1944. The crew are listed on the wall of missing at the Sicily-Rome American Cemetery. His name is on the bag three times; both sides and the top. I think I have narrowed down the possible Missing Aircrew Report of this incident to: MACR # 3710 aircraft # 42-78083 or possibly: MACR # 3584 aircraft # 41-28612 MACR # 3958 aircraft # 42-52088 Yes, I know I should have a Fold3 account, but I have not gotten around to doing that!!!! I am guessing that after he did not return, someone in his tent used his bag and brought it back to the US. The guy I got the bag from had no information, "just a kit bag". Well, It is not just a kit bag!!!
